Year 5 completed a local visit for their Geography topic that they have started for the spring term. Their topic this term is 'Sow and Grow' so they will be looking at the local area, maps and how things grow, linked to their science topic of plants. On Thursday afternoon they walked to the local allotments situated at the back of the school. They took a general look at what is in an allotment and why people have them. Many children had never noticed allotments around before and this made the topic come to life. In class, they will continue to spot allotments in the local area and develop their understanding of why they are where they are, along with the benefits they bring.
